Amanda Vlastas was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After finishing high school, Amanda headed north to study Sociology at the California State University of San Francisco where she received her BA degree. During her summers she traveled abroad immersing herself in photography.

Amanda worked as a photographer for the San Francisco Examiner, photographing local dignitaries and special events for their weekly ‘Life and Style’ column. She also worked as the head photographer for SF Social, capturing the best of San Francisco’s nightlife.

Amanda has a passion for exploring the world; her curiosity has taken her though Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic’s, Russia and the former Soviet Union. She also voyaged to South East Asia and India for a few months with a quick jaunt to Cuba before relocating to New York City. Her photographs document sights captured along her journey.
